Melanie Roznowski

Township Treasurer

Melanie Roznowski, Treasurer

The Township Treasurer is responsible for all of the money that passes through the Township office. One part of that includes the collection of all taxes for the township, county, school districts, state, and special assessment districts. Once collected, the Township’s funds are invested with a priority for safety, following the Township’s investment policy. The Treasurer also releases the funds to pay the operating and capital expenses of the Township as approved by the Board of Trustees.

The Treasurer assists to provide a system of checks and balances in the financial affairs following sound cash management practices. The Board members receive a monthly report of all the checks written and to be written for the month. All financial records are audited annually by an independent Certified Public Accounting firm.

As a voting member of the Board of Trustees, the Treasurer is responsive to the needs of the public and helps ensure that the Township has a staff that is knowledgeable, helpful, and courteous. The Treasurer helps the Board of Trustees design and implement policies and procedures for the smooth operation of all of the Township’s functions.
