Tammy Bates Trustee

Tammy Bates served on the Green Township Planning Commission and the Green Township Board as a Trustee from January 2005 through November 2024, totaling 20 years of dedicated service. During her tenure, she achieved numerous milestones, including the development of the Township’s first Master Plan and subsequent updates, the creation and continuous improvement of the Recreation Plan, the implementation of a new zoning ordinance with several amendments to keep the township at the forefront of planning, and the production of a community business and recreation brochure. She also ensured that the planning commission’s records were always up to date.

On the Township Board, Tammy’s accomplishments included securing several grants to build a pavilion and install various pieces of playground equipment for the community’s enjoyment. She also oversaw updates to the facilities and improvements to the grounds and cemeteries.

Dolores Sumerix

Dolores Sumerix served on the Planning Commission from 2002 to 2024. She played a crucial role in completing the first and subsequent Master Plans and Recreation Plans, as well as implementing and updating a new zoning ordinance. Dolores was known for her hands-on approach, attending necessary classes and working tirelessly on every project to ensure its completion. She served as secretary for many years and was a devoted board member. Additionally, Dolores served as an Election Inspector, regularly attended board meetings, and supported her firefighter husband, who served many years on the department.
